Places worth a visit, off the Bruce Highway, Brisbane to Cairns.
1. Australia Zoo
Australia Zoo, Beerwah, Sunshine Coast
Visited before the death of Steve. But we found it great fun, liked the emphsis on australian animals and got to pet a koala.
2. Noosa Heads
Noosa, Sunshine Coast
Great beaches
3. Fraser Island
The lakes are divine and the 4x4's great fun
4. Mackay
Mackay, Queensland
The best seafood ever
5. Whitehaven Beach
Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island, Whitsunday Islands, Great Barrier Reef
Its just stunning. But you won't be alone
6. Magnetic Island
Magnetic Island, Great Barrier Reef
Its a jewel of an island, so many beautiful little beaches.
7. Mission Beach
Mission Beach, Queensland
Wonderful chilled out place, could have stayed a lot longer. Whitewater rafting on the Tully river is brilliant, one of the best things we did.
8. Waterfalls of the Atherton tablelands
Milaa Milaa and Josphine falls are only two of the spectacular falls in the South Atherton area. Don't forget swimmers if you are visiting Josphine falls
