I have stayed in Barbados for 4 times now, the last 2 occasions (2005 and 2007) at Settlers Beach. I cannot fault it! Beautifully maintained, exceptionally friendly, lovely location, excellent villas and bungalows (I have stayed in both single and 2 storey properties). The kitchens are well appointed, clean and spacious. Being a lover of tropical plants, the gardens are... more

We decided to return to Barbados after 18 years and visit the island with our children where we got engaged. I selected Settlers because it has villa's with kitchens and 2BRs. Much to my surprise each bedroom has its own bathroom and there is also a washer and dryer in each villa. We asked for two villas and we got... more

Having just returned today from Settlers Beach resort after a 10 day stay, we actually felt compelled for the first time in a long time to take the time to write a review of our experiences on the basis that others can benefit too! We have been to Barbados a couple of times before but have always stayed in St... more

Booked a 2-bed villa for 2ad & 2ch through expedia.co.uk for 6 nights and paid £228/night and you? This hotel is a delight with excellent, long serving staff led by a committed manager, Vanessa. Villas are either on one or two levels. We were in Villa 15 (1-storey) which was well equipped, well furnished and incredibly spacious. However, I'm afraid... more

We came to Settlers Beach for our honeymoon. Obviously we really hoped we'd booked somewhere good and not a place that didn't turn out to be what the brochure promised. However, we couldn't have asked for more and have vowed we will go back one day. The staff didn't know at first that we were honeymooners so, where some places... more

We have travelled widely, but never been to the Caribbean, so we researched very thoroughly before booking direct at Settlers Beach – and it lived up to the billing in just about every respect (except one or two...) The Southern shore of Barbados is cheap, brash and unappealing, while the North is barren & the East is beautiful, but the... more

This was our second visit to Settlers and it was as good, if not better, than we remembered in 2004. We had one of the single storey villas which was very well appointed and spotlessly clean (our excellent maid, Cheryl, kept it that way). The staff, admirably led by recently appointed manageress, Vanessa, were exemplary - nothing was too much... more

We've just returned from a fortnight staying at Settlers Beach and still haven't come back to reality. It was our 10th holiday in Barbados and was by far the best hotel we have encountered. We chose it because all our other 'favourites' have gone All Inclusive over the years and we love the flexibility of self catering accommodation. We couldn't... more

We stayed for 2 weeks at this charming villa/hotel complex. The staff are fantastic, very efficient, organised and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to be helpful. The new manager, Vanessa, came round to each villa every morning with fresh pastries - wow! Although we had a couple of issues with the villa... more

We stayed here over Christmas and New Year and it was so good we are going back next year (which is something we rarely do). It is the perfect place for families with 2 bedroom villas and a safe, secure feeling. The staff are lovely, the rooms spacious and clean. The restaurant is idyllic situated next to the beach so... more
