I am always a bit sceptical about idealistic destinations as they are never as you imagine. Port St Charles wasn't, it was better. We were picked up at the airport and driven to the apartment door. We came to Barbados in April, 2007 and stayed at a neughbouring resort, it was dirty, shabby, awful food and the staff were so unhelpful! We went for a walk next door and found PARADISE. We were actually booked into Almond Beach Village for two weeks, but due to overbooking we were not granted a room for two nights, and were informed that we would have to stay in the neighbouring hotel. The rental apartments at Port St Charles are just idyllic. Built to the highest specification, and with stunning views over the harbour and superyachts and out towards the sea and the private beach, after 2 weeks on the island, we finally found paradise. virgin messed up our flights home so we had to stay in barbados for an extra two days! such hardship!! then more bad news, all the hotels were full so they had to put us in the luxury apartments of port st charles!!!!
