Luckily we booked this hotel online through a Cuban agent, Umbrella Travel. We were on a tour with GAP Adventures who wanted twice the price for an extra night (and charged per person, so we paid only $75 CDN with Umbrella Travel instead of $140 CDN thru GAP). Cuba is a expensive third world country because Fidel undervalues foreigns currencies at his will so the dollar vallues 0,8 CUC. So everything gets expensive, usually for the tourist. Stayed here at the beginning and end of a trip round Cuba. For a Cuban hotel, it was in relatively good repair, the staff were good, spoke English and were helpful. I liked that hotel. Rooms are normal but clean. There is a pool on the top and the view is incredible. The bar is very cool and there are always a lot of cool people over there. I liked the spot where the hotel is because it's at 2 min by walk to the Malecon and you can go everywhere... more
