After spending 3 days in the Melia, Havana, it was great to come to the Melia Varadero and not have to pay for anything - except the inevitable tips of course. Very good hotel. Great food in all restaurants. The pool is small. All workers are very helpful and pleasant. Even people from the travel agency there (Travelplan or Soltour) was there every time. Many activities... The night sows were fantastic. more

This place is a total low class dump and I am amazed at the previous positive reviews. First of all the food is terrible. Vegetables are frozen, meat is tough and overcooked, and everything is just unpleasant tasting. Do not stay at melia! This was my second trip to Cuba and after my stay at Melia, I don’t think I’ll be risking another trip to Cuba. Well, we were bumped from Breezes Varadero to Melia, and I must say I was very pleased. I was nervous at first, not knowing what to expect. Resort: Hotel style...grounds well kept...everything within short walking distance...lots of elevators and stairs. There is 1 buffet restaurant...not very busy.
