On advice from our daughter who stayed in Varadero last year and from reviews on Trip Advisor, we booked a 2 week stay from 20th June. The hotel and grounds are excellent. Not a bad hotel, not utterly amazing either. Its hot in Cuba. Heh. The humidity is especially powerful. The bars, restaurant (slightly fanned tbh), lobby are all open-air and not air con'd - take several changes of clothes per day as you'll need them. The Hotel is nicely presented with the gardens immaculate and everywhere clean and spotless, thanks to hardworking staff. Food was good and with a good variety in the buffet. We stayed at the Iberostar Varadero between 16th-30th June 2008. Reviews on Trip Advisor helped make our final decision to book two weeks before travelling. Firstly be careful that your suitcases are not over weight as you will be charged both in England and Cuba.
