Knowing that there would some problems or damaged caused by the hurriacane. Travel company reassured us nothing was wrong. Needless to say that was not the case, the food was limited to chicken rice and cold, buffet was not even 1 star rating, The large pool was closed and will be for afew months while it is being repaired. Everything... more

The resort was average at best. I went with 4 friends of mine all 23 yrs old and we werent impressed at all. When we got there we knew there would be some damage from the hurricane so we didnt have our hopes to high, but it there wasnt to much damage at all. Ther major dissappointment was the main... more

Nice place , clean , foods o.k. nice beach and pools . After hours food is just hamburgers or hotdogs (not always freshly made) . Buffet food was O.K. Lots of mosquitoes!!!! Bring Bug spray . No one tells of the mosquitoes at dusk . The rooms have either one king or two twin beds , so if you have... more

Where do I start. The so called workers stand around 99% of the time talking to each other. The service was terrible. Even when you tip. Stuff stolen from my suitcase. The food was terrible. Tastless and cold. The bugs are everywhere. The resort was beautiful to bad the workers didn't match. If you want a resort just to go... more

1. Timing is everything - Visit during a slower time of year and there are no line ups and staff are great - not overworked. Jan - Mar is the busy time, expect lines and a hard time getting a lounger. 2. Weather - Make sure you watch the weather network for hurricane's and book last minute when you know... more

Better late than never to put in a review. My wife and I stayed at La Salina the second week of February 2008. What a beautiful hotel. Yes it is a big complex, but you could say that we needed (and enjoyed) the exercise. The rooms were clean and the maids were always nice to us and even went out... more

As others have already said, pay little/no attention to the complainers. We picked September to go down there, because there are less people and kids, and we hoped that we would get lucky and not get any storms. ...Well, that didn't happen. We met Hurricane Ike! As it passed through Cuba, we felt some of the high winds that it... more

Hurricane Ike was over rated! It was a bit windy, and it rained for two days, but then everything went back to sunshine and waving palms! Here it is folks.. the review.. and this IS an honest look at the resort, the people, the service, the food, etc etc.. oh and the hurricane... And I am a fussy, picky person!!!... more

Feared for my safety! I was there during Hurricane IKE. This hotel has no backup power or running water. We lost running water, toilets, power and had to go the washroom outside. Families were going in sinks and bathtubs. It was so unsanitary and unhealthy. We couldn't wash our hands. Sirenis La Salina has a beautiful beach and nice rooms... more

My husband and I decided to take a cheap trip to Varadero, Cuba From Toronto Canada. What we didn't bargain for was a hurricane. We understood we were taking a risk but felt confident that Nolotours and Air Transat Vacations would ensure our safety should something like a Hurricane hit. We were misled. Pablo, the Nolotours representative did not even... more
