The grounds, exterior , and beach-front are well manicured and attractive. However, the time-share rooms are a dump. The rooms are cooled with old window AC units. As a result, there is a constant din of the window units running, along with unhealthy dampness and an awful mildew smell. The mattresses and pillows were horribly worn and uncomfortable. The ceiling... more

The hotel needs some major renovation especially the rooms. They have outdated furnitures. Our lamp is our room is dirty and the bed is in dire need of a new mattress. We read some review about "bed" bugs and "sand" bugs and we came PREPARED with some Bug Spray and it helped (although I have some few bites the last... more

In the space of two days I've counted 27 bites on my right leg and 22 on my left and I still have 4 more days left. My husband and 9 month old baby are here for a quiet getaway. It is quiet and the grounds are beautiful but that's about it. There are two restaurants on the resort and... more

My wife and I just spent the last week (May 10-17 08) at the Elysian, and I was concerned by some of the other reviews. To the contrary, I found the resort to be very nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. The rooms did seem to be due for a remodel or update, but the room we... more

My beau and I stayed at the Elysian for a week and had a great time. Although the resort was not top quality, it was clean and comfortable. We stayed near the pool on the first floor which made it easy to get to the restaurant and beach. As well, since the resort does not have an elevator, this came... more

My husband and I stayed at the Elysian for our anniversary. It was a great, relaxing stay. The beach is cozy and quiet. The trees on the beach make it great for those couples that want the best of both worlds (sun and shade). The room that we had was adequate but could use some updating and remodeling - which... more

We have just returned from St. Thomas and had a wonderful relaxing week. We stayed at the Elysian Beach Resort. In going, by reading reviews of where we stayed, there was some concerns. However, the stay at Elysian was terrific. The check-in went smooth. We did check in on a Friday and did hear that those who checked in the... more

We ave been going to this resort for several years and much of the bad press and mixed ratings were on point. Now that there is new management (the Wyndom name) we have noticed a change of attitude with the staff they are much more pleasant and responsive, and guests are asked to fill out a "rating" card when they... more

It still bewilders my wife and I when we read the reviews which by the way can keep you on your toes ,however ,the Elysian may not be the Hilton or the Ritz ,but as the project manager of the Elysian when it was built and also finished up on what is now the Ritz, The Elysian means a quite... more

Stayed at Elysian Beach 4/10-4/17. Some of these units are part of a timeshare, others are individually owned and rented. We found our unit on vrbo and it was fantastic. We still got to use the Elysian amenities, while having a completely updated 2+ bedroom 3 bath unit w/washer/dryer and three balconies. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and we used... more
