Arriving there without a reservation on a weekend, we were happy for the availability. The front desk can best be described as functional. While not rude, they lacked any feeling of hospitality. The major problem I encountered was the elevators. I know its Mexico and things don't run as smoothly as in the US but the elevator would bump up... more

Clearly, when you go to Mexico, you don't expect the same quality of hotels as in the US and other countries, so this review is based on those lower expectations. I went to Ensenada on a Saturday on Labor Day weekend with 4 other friends. Preliminary research indicated that most hotels were booked up for the holiday weekend, so we... more

We stayed in a 2nd-floor room for three nights while racing in the Baja Triathlon. Every single night car alarms went off, and two of the nights cherry bombs were tossed from windows above us to the parking lot below setting off even more car alarms. This hotel needs double paned windows for the noise problems. This place is dirty,... more

my husband and i took a last minute trip to ensenada w/no reservations. we walked into the villa marina and got a good deal from their friendly staff. We found the hotel to be far enough away from the loudness of the main strip to sleep at night but close enough to walk just about anywhere. Definately not a luxury... more

Loud and noisy, drunken men hanging about elevators until late. Complained two nights, found other accomodations for duration of stay. Found similar problems with previous stay, will not try Villa Marina Hotel again more

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa Marina. Great location right on the main tourist street. The staff was helpful and friendly. The bar on the 12th floor was completely empty, but has a nice veiw of the City. The rooms were a bit old, but clean. And we didnt have any problem with the noise from the busy street... more

The Villa Marina is a decent hotel right on the LOUDEST street in Ensenada. We got NO sleep until at least 4am each night, when the bars close down. The room was clean, though far from elegant, and the restaurant was fine. An ok, though unheated, pool. Watch out for the treacherous stairway. We got late check out for a... more

Our NSGW group stayed for four days and we had a real good time. They have a real nice breakfast and the staff is friendly and co-operative. We basically needed a place to stay, sleep and shower. TV was good with lots of channels, some en english and the view was spectacular. Not a lot of frills, but quite nice.... more

A simple message for all, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY. I visited Ensenada for a wedding we attended, and stayed only one night. Thank God because it was terrible. The rooms smelled musty, curtains torn, no remote for the T.V. and the "On" button was pushed in. The matteres& box spring on the bed were stained with blood or... more

OUR TRIP TO THE VILLA MARINA: The 'never-cleaned' curtains had holes in them ...didn't have to open......couldn't sleep all night from all the street traffic below ....no sprinklers in the room....black alge on the tile in the shower.....my shoes stuck to the carpet......room smelled of mildew.....mattress made noises of cardboard when I got into bed....not to mention I was scratching... more
