Something is very seriously wrong with this place Impending bankruptcy maybe? Being run by a drug-cartel gang perhaps? Sociopathic management? I stayed there over the 4th of July holiday and everything seemed OK. The light was burnt out in the bathroom, the mattress was squishy but ,no big deal. The exterior is impressive and the interior, especially the "mall" was... more

I've stayed at this hotel nine times over the past three years including a two night stay on the Club Level. Overall, it is a fair value if you book a room using a AAA, AARP or Grand Rewards rate and pay less than $80. The Grand is not a Five Star hotel with superior service or decor. If you... more

I came here for a conference in May. I've read some of the other reviews from 2007, and I can't really agree with them. Maybe the hotel has gone downhill since then. This is easily the poorest price-quality trade off i've seen for some time. Here's why i've suggested this: 1) The name. This hotel was probably grand in the... more

This is an ideal place to stay in Tijuana, especially if you're looking to get away from the vulgarity of Revolucion. A hotel from the San Ysidro border crossing costs $8-10 (settle on a price with the driver before you get it) and the hotel is hard to miss - two huge mirrored towers. The interior design is eclectic to... more

We needed a place to stay in Tijuana prior to flying out from the Tijuana airport the next day. We arrived on the day the fires started and they turned off the AC in the San Diego trolley about 2 stops from the border. When we crossed the border, ash was landing on us. It was about a $10, 5... more

I have just returned from Mexico, Baja California and had a wonderful time. A couple of us took a trip to Ensenada and Tijuana just to take a road trip. I had heard horrible stories about the hotels in Mexico and even a friend was scared to travel with us, so we were a little skeptical. We did not have... more

I was on business in TJ and stayed 1 night here at the recommendation of the local office. The hotel is beautiful inside. There were ALOT of people milling around with a conference, but it did not feel crowded. Check in was reasonable efficient (10 minutes). Room was large and clean with a typically hard Mexican bed. Plenty of english/US... more

The Grand Hotel is a fair value for the money but don't confuse it with a typical luxury hotel. The best way to describe it is a clean but unremarkable "Holiday Inn" of the 1980s. Service is inconsistant. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful but lacks training. If you want concierge service you need to work hard to find... more

If you'd like a nice place to stay in Tijuana and aren't looking for a bargain rate I recommend the Grand. I paid $130 a night which is probably I bit high but I just walked in off the street with out reservations, researching rates, etc. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and what you'd be used to... more

I recently visited Tijuana, Mexico and stayed at the Grand Hotel. They just remodeled and the room was wonderful. Very good service and a very appealing hotel. I do not have any regrets and definetly recommend the hotel. The mexican food was very good and the people were very nice . I plan to visit Tijuana soon and I will... more
