My fiancee and I stayed 6 nights at El Rancho Perla Negra in April 2008. Our decision on where to stay while in Manzanillo was based primarily on positive Trip Advisor reviews and pictures viewed on the Rancho Perla Negra website. We were very pleased with our decision; it was perfect for us. Very clean and quiet, with beautiful views... more

I reviewed the pictures, etc. from the website and felt a bit unsettled at not being able to get a full view of the rooms and the quality. I heard troubled stories about bugs and strange creatures, being that Manzanillo is tropical. But the price was so very reasonable, that I opted the El Rancho Perla Negra as my place... more

El RanchoPerlaNegra has been our vacation spot in Mexico for the last three years. David, the property manager, is very helpful with great suggestions for good restaurants, shopping, activities, etc. The most awesome ocean views and magnificent sunsets can be found here. One can easily relax by the huge pool, sit in the patio area, or nap in the hammock.... more

I found this to be a much better experience than staying in a crowded resort area. This was truly the Mexican experience. Our host David was available for all our needs and arranged for everything to make our trip a wonderful experience. The hospitality was great, the food was authentic and wonderful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I... more

If you are looking for the real Mexican experience, with seclusion in the comforts of a home setting, this is the place! You can feel completely safe to walk on the beach. Walk into the town of Campos( to buy fresh tortillas) or take the bus into Manzanillo. Eight of us rented the Rancho and had the best time. We... more

This place was advertised as one of the best places to stay at in Manzanillo. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real disappointment. But let's talk about the good things first: the seaview is really amazing, and the management very friendly and helpful with perfect English. Sitting upstairs on the terace and watching the sea is a real pleasure.... more

As you will see from the other reviews, this is the one and only review which was not a favorable one. While it is true that the pool was not in it's best form, that situation has been thoroughly addressed, and we have installed a new filter, the pool has been totally refurbished, and is now in excellent condition. I...

If you're looking for a secluded paradise in Mexico, this is it. The hotel and surrounding area would make a super location for a feature film. It has a remote feel but is only a 15 minute drive into old Manzanillo. You can look up and down the beach in both directions and not see a single neighbor. David, Diana... more

El Rancho Perla Negra is off the beaten path. If you are looking to experience "real Mexico" then this is a wonderful place to call "home" during your vacation! Our host David, and his "right arm" Maria are helpful and friendly. Diana will make sure that no detail is overlooked. They all make sure that you feel very welcome at... more

We looked at the Web site before visiting Perla Negra. Our first reaction "Oh My God". The ambiance, the setting and the tropical growth surrounding the villa are awe inspiring. To attempt to describe being able to gaze out through the coconut palm trees into the open Pacific Ocean and the black Volcanic sand beach words can not really describe... more

We stayed at El Rancho Perla Negra this past Jan. and loved it! It is very peaceful, and isolated. It is a 20 minute bus ride to town, although we rented a car which worked great. Driving, though, is definitely not for the faint at heart. Be prepared to get lost- a LOT - because no one seems to have... more
