We decided to splurge and stayed here for three days last summer. We enjoyed our time there very much. They were extremely attentive and helpful. They helped us arrange some excursions, and suggested places to dine. The service was impeccable; our room was clean, cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. We had a great experience, the staff was gracious, professional, and very... more
I brought my husband to Guadalajara to visit the Tequila Trail for a 50th birthday surprise. While all aspects of our trip were really wonderful, the highlight was our time at Villa Ganz. Everything about our experience at Villa Ganz was perfection, starting www.mexicoboutiquehotels.com, where we booked the property. Their English was impeccable, and they were highly responsive. They went... more
My husband and I travel frequently to Guadalajara on working trips and have always stayed at the Fiesta Americana as that was our recommendation from a friend who lives nearby. We've always been let down by that hotel for it's general lack of character. For example it's always bothered me that you cannot control the room's temperature or open the... more
I can certainly echo those praising the Villa Ganz’s old world charm, relaxing ambience, antique-filled rooms, fresh flowers, and lovely gardens but I disagree with criticism of the location. The Minerva/Chapultepec neighborhood is easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops and sights, including the Expiatory Temple and amazing Orozco murals at the University. Indeed, we chose the Villa because it’s... more
My recent stay was in a Grand Mater suite (#14) overlooking the much commented upon garden, for 4 nights. Whilst not expensive on the international stage (US$250/nt), it is up there for Guadalajara, so expectations can run high. This small (10 rooms) hotel does indeed offer an oasis of calm in the middle of the city, and the service is... more
Dear Mr. Hong Kong Memeber: Thank you very much for your comments. Definetly is very important for us to know all the little details you mentioned you found in room # 14 during your stay at Villa Ganz, so we can improve and arrange any damage or faults that the rooms, the amenities and the hotel would have. As one...
A real find. My room was spacious and full of character -- terracotta floors, antique furniture, beveled glass door off a comfortably furnished terrace. Linens and towels were fresh and immaculate, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Common areas of the hotel are lovely, elegant without being pretentious. The small garden provides a welcome sense of space --... more
From the moment we arrived we felt the warmth and charm of the place. The decor and architecture of the hotel were inviting the enough, with beautiful candles and amazing Mexican antiques. Every detail of the place was carefully and lovingly thought out with the comfort of guests in mind. The rooms were very charming. The bed was unbelievably comfortable... more
Everything about this hotel was a joy. It's in the Zapopan neighborhood of Guadalajara, which is upscale and full of boutique shopping and fine restaurants (all within walking distance). It's only a short cab ride to the Centro Historico. I needed a ride to/from the airport and they handled it for me. Dinner reservations? Handled. Tour guide for the town... more
My boyfriend and I went to the Feria Internacional del Libro this weekend (The biggest book fair in Latin America) and stayed at Villa Ganz. This is hands down one of my favorite hotels in the entire country. Period. The beds are beyond comfortable, the service is impeccable and the hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable and 100% focused on the... more
