Like the other reviews have said, this hotel is pretty far from the beach and main tourist attractions. That said, the money we saved staying here was put to great use on the days we did take the bus to the strip. The bus rides were actually one of my favorite parts of the trip-very cultural and even exhilarating since... more

You should realize that this hotel is in downtown Cancun, far from the beach, not a place many people want to be in. The staff is generally unfriendly and not helpful. I would only recommend this hotel if you need a cheap place to stay one night before a flight or a rental car. There is a bar and restaurant... more

This hotel is in a great location. The staff are friendly enough until there is a problem and then they refuse to speak English or refuse to read an explanation from a phrase book. for example some members of staff couldnt be bothered to change a travellers cheque. we stayed in 2 different rooms neither had hot water, the water... more

This is not your Marriot, Hilton or (put any hotel chain name here), but it delivers. I booked this hotel to stay in Cancun while attending a congress. I only needed a place to sleep. This hotel is located in downtown. It's not on a main avenue so the impact of traffic or noise is very small. The rooms are... more

My boyf and I stayed at this hotel because we wanted something for a cheap price for a one night stay in Cancun before we headed to our rented condo the next day. I actually liked Downtown Cancun, so location wise, it wasn't a problem. I booked online for $51 w/ tax included. We got to the hotel around 1... more

We stayed at the Margaritas on 12/20/06. I found it to be a fairly standard Mexican 2+ star hotel. The rooms were clean, but nothing special. The airconditioning worked, but smelled so moldy that we had to sleep with it off. We were charged an extra $15.00 each for our two children, which we were not expecting. Other than the... more

I am surprised by the many negative reviews. Booking into a downtown hotel at that cheap rate and expecting the Ritz leads to disappointment. If you want to be on the beach, shell out the dough or be ready to ride the bus for a whopping 65cents. Many Mexican travelers stay here or have parties. The noise level can be... more

Let me start by saying. This is not the Four Seasons. What are you expecting though?? The bottom line is, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for creature comforts, go to the Hotel Zone and spend $200 per night. If you're looking for a nice place to sleep after a day at the beach, in the pool... more

I do not expect too much for this price. But let me share my experience with you before booking: - quality of the rooms - ok - bathroom is ok - what they offer on the homepage: free internet, free shuttle bus to the beach, breakfast includes - no even a word is true from it !!!!!!! - the receptionist... more

Do not let the internet description of this hotel mislead you: It is not even close to a three star or even a two star hotel. I've stayed at many different hotels from all different classes all over the world and this was the firts in a long time that have really dissapointed me. Horrible service, attitude from staff, NOISY... more
