Hotel is inexpensive but comfortale, perched on a cliff side. Ask for a outward facing room - the sound and sight of the wavs crashing aainst the island is awesome. Rooms are clean and large enough, with OK bathroom and shower. Not a 5* hotel by any means, but does not profess to be. more

Very friendly people (I think the cranky guy everyone mentions is gone). Very clean. Right on the town square where the big supermarket is. In walking distance of North Beach and lots of restaurants. Stayed 8 days in Jan 2006. The man that runs it is supposed to have a soft inside but we sure never saw it. Grumpy and downright intimidating. For convenience, and an overall great introduction to Isla, Roca Mar makes a great home base. The rooms are rather spartan, but very clean and offer great prices when you consider its central location and the fact that it's right on the water (Atlantic or Caribbean side).
