if you expect marble stairways and a mile long buffet, this is not for you. A very pleasent almost deserted beach with the best snorkeling in mexico, all right in front of this older, smaller resort. Other resort come with their boats here for their snorkel tours. A clean and seclude and very friendly resort with basic good food, basic... more

I went to Maya Tankah from december 20th 2007 to january 3rd 2008. It was way too long!! I didn't appreciate the resort at all. The food was terrible(cold octopus 3 times a week and the same breakfast everyday). The activities at the resort we're non existant. At least, we met a really nice couple from Montana but we will... more

This hotel was very enjoyable and we had a nice and quiet vacation. There's no entertainment (which is good), if you like dicos, go somewhere else. But if you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is your place. The beach was very nice with a coral reef, the food was good (international menu, not only mexican food) and the... more

Most of the hotel was empty during our stay from 12/22-12/28/2007. The swing bar and swim up bar were no longer in operation. The observation tower was no longer accessible. The only food available was at the buffet 3 times a day with snacks twice a day at the pool/beach bar. The food that was intended to be hot was... more

We had never been to an All-Inclusive before and didn't know what to expect. What we discovered was a vacation beyond all our expectations. If you are looking for a place to be waited on hand and foot and treated like you are back in your home country, don't come here. If you are looking for the ritziest, most glamourous... more

My husband and I wanted to get away from everything and just relax. We found just that at Maya Tankah. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate all three meals at the hotels buffet and everytime the food was above exceptional. Great private beach, no one bothered us. The view was spectacular. We are already making plans... more

Let me first say that I have stayed at MANY all inclusives. This was a shocker. I guess from the moment we drove in we knew we were not going to be impressed. And we weren't. There was probably only about 12 people at the resort. And maybe that was the biggest problem. But if you are paying for something... more

We came for the week of thanksgiving for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the secluded empty beach. Upstairs room is the way to go, better views. The staff is wonderful as you can see in the other reviews. Not so much to do on property, but Paul and I wanted to run on the beach and go diving, Maya Tankah is... more

What a fantastic hotel for the money. Great oceanfront simple rooms with great food on a fantastic, wide EMPTy beach. We stayed for 2 nights but wished we booked more. The food was great and the staff was son nice. If you want simple and clean rooms with great oceanviews--this is the place. It is Tulum's best kept secret. more

My husband and I spent the week of Thanksgiving at this Hotel. From all the reviews I read here I really didn't know what to expect, but the prices were really good and I decided to take my chances. Overall It was a great choice, it's a pretty simple hotel, nothing fancy or brand new, but perfect for people who... more
