We learned very quicly how carzy-overpriced Tulum is if you want to sleep on the beach. I think people need to be aware that we got our room for 90 bucks during low-season and this is an awesome deal if you don't want to share your toilet with the rest of the guests. We hadn't planned to be in Tulum so hadn't booked and only places left were even more expensive. The beach is nice but during the day crowded with people for the day, and deafening music. Room poorly maintained, but clean, in a cheerless concrete block. At US$130 it was very poor value but then that seems to be the case... more
