We just returned from our honeymoon in Cabo where we spent the first part of our trip at the Playa Grande. The following was our experience. First off, if you do not own a timeshare, beware of other reviews on this site from timeshare owners, people mentioning HCI, etc. These folks are treated much differently at this resort. If you... more

Being a Mayan owner and having stayed at The Grand Mayan on our previous visit to Mexico, this was quiete the change. The resort itself is beautiful, we were given a 2 bedroom Penthouse suite with a great ocean view as well as a view of the pool area. The suite itself was amazing, with a fullsize fridge, which helped... more

We were at Playa Grande from September 14 - 20 for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time! We did an RCI exchange and stayed in room 1224, which had beautiful views of the pool and the Pacific. Other reviewers are correct about the airport, be careful when leaving because the timeshare sellers are just like barracudas. We booked... more

We spent our 36th Anniversary on the Ridge at the Playa Grande. The Ridge is an exclusive Resort within the Resort and sits up on a ridge between the main resort and the Marina. At first we were a little bummed with the lack of the Pacific view from our balcony but as time went by we decided the Marina... more

We went to Playa Grande through an RCI exchange. For airport transportation, I had read that there was some dispute going on, so I used that traveler's advice and booked round-trip transportation from TransCabo. After you go through customs and immigration, get your luggage, exchange your money - GO STRAIGHT OUTSIDE! You pass through a room where someone says, "Oh,... more

Our one bedroom apartment was very clean and well appointed. The only exception was the non-conventional sofa bed that was a pain to set up. I also missed not having a dishwasher or oven in the kitchen, but not a big deal since we only ate breakfast in the room. It was pretty nice having a Costco and Wal-Mart just... more

Let me first start off by warning first time visitors when they arrive at the airport. Unless you want a time share IGNORE EVERYONE when you finally get your luggage and head toward the exit where you can purchase cab rides. They do offer free cab rides and some excursion money, but do you consider 60 bucks about 3 hours... more

My wife and I are grand mayan owners in our early 30s and did an RCI split exchange to be within walking distance of the marina and all the timeshare selling, chiclette offering, offshore fishing guide people that go with it. WHOOO CABO!!!! The resort itself is nice and we were given a 1 BR suite that overlooked the pool... more

My family and I loved the Playa Grande, pressure to purchase was light, as we politely declined. Although the beach was not usable, the pools, poolside service, and room service were great! Our kids, age 10 and 4 love the beach but were not disappointed by not be able to use it, since there were several pools which accommodated every... more

Have stayed at this hotel twice in a penthouse suite and enjoyed the room. The hotel was being expanded and the noise rather loud, but overall the swimming pools are nice and the restuarants are very good, but expensive. It might be nice to be closer to town if you have teenagers. more
