We stayed at Banff Aspen Lodge on 2nd Sept on a 'Celebrate Midweek' package. We had a superior room, overlooking a quiet side street, and thoroughly enjoyed the good continental breakfast - the best granola we tasted in nearly a month spent travelling in Canada. Good underground carpark too. The reception staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Considering that... more

I recently took a short vacation to Banff and stayed at the Aspen Lodge Hotel. We booked the room directly by calling the hotel directly and booking in on a package deal they had offered in a brochure from Travel Alberta. The hotel was very clean, the staff at the front desk very nice and helpful. The 2 new hot... more

I stayed at the Banff Aspen Lodge 8/22-8/24. I was attending a conference at the Banff Springs Fairmont but because of lack of rooms moved to Banff Aspen Lodge for my final 2 nights. The hotel lobby is sparse but lovely. I have travelled to Japan and it definitely has an Asian feel to it. The front desk usually had... more

Hotel is very basic. Very attentive front desk staff. Rooms on the ground floor facing the pool are very noisy. The one we were allocated was smelly tiny and noisy due to water and sewrage pipes running in its walls. We were given an upgraded room for the 2nd night and a discount for the 1st night. more

The room smelt of cigarettes and was dirty and when we asked to change rooms the lady at reception was not impressed because she couldn't re sell our room because we had used it. Very disappointed. more

We arrived Friday the 25th via Calgary airport. The drive up was pleasant and took about 1 3/4 hours. The lobby is being renovated at this time but from the look of the tiling that was being done when we were there it is going to look wonderful. Check in was quick and we were shown where we could park... more

Our ski club, Hi Rise Ski Club, of Cleveland, Ohio enjoyed our stay for 7 nights from January 19th to 26th, 2008. While we did encounter some hot tub inconvenience for two evenings (due to construction project), the hotel did make arrangements to allow hotel guests to use the neighboring hotel's hot-tubs. The rooms were all very nice, well maintained... more

Well..... having read some of the reviews we were a little aprehensive, there was no need to be, the staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful and the lodge was well run and we never had a problem during our stay. The lobby is rather plain, but when you are in there, you are usually getting help... more

Although the Aspen Lodge is very close to the centre of Banff, the hotel in general and our room in particular was very quiet. It was great to have a separate bathroom and sink area so we could both get ready at the same time. The building works to the hot tub area didn't affect our enjoyment of the facilities... more

At first they didnt keep our fish we caught (and gave into ever other hotel from tofino to jasper) so we had to go and find a bar to leave it in. The pool was more like a jacuzzi. The breakfast was fine. more
