My wife and I unfortunately were booked into this hotel for 5 nights during September 08 as part of a tour (4 days before 1 afterwards). It was our first trip to Canada. The hotel is awful. Dirty and run down foyer, mostly sullen, demoralised staff. Clean room and bed comfortable, but room otherwise awful; dated, stained and very tatty.... more

We are conducting a renovation project in stages and our current work will cause no disruption to our guests during their stay. In 2008 we began our exterior facelift. Due to weather constraints, it will re-commence in Spring 2009. Stay tuned for details on our interior refurbishment.

We stayed at the Citadel for three nights from 11th September 2008 as part of a tour. I have no complaints - it was clean; the rooms were large by English standards as they have two double beds and a writing desk; there was air conditioning and an opening window; everything was provided in the bathroom. We had tea and... more

I stayed at the citadel hotel in Aug. 2008 and thought by the website it was a nice hotel. I was wrong!! The room I stayed in had huge stains on the carpet , the paint in the bathroom ceiling was falling down and there were pee stains on the back of the toilet. Needless to say I will not... more

The Citadel is a hotel that we stayed at about 14 years ago. We thought it was great back then. We couldn't believe how bad everything has gotten. Nothing seems to have been updated in regards to the rooms at all. The staff on the front desk were not friendly at all. We paid for parking at the hotel, and... more

Nothing spectacular about this place, but a convenient location and good enough facilities. Desk staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. more

The best thing that the Citadel hotel has going for it is its location, situated just a block away from the Citadel National Historic Site. It's convenient to the Citadel, the downtown, the waterfront, and the Spring Garden Road shopping area. It was great that the hotel was so well-placed, because I spent very little time there. Nothing about the... more

I stayed at this hotel for one night and I would not recommend it to any of my friends. It needs a serious face-lift. Maybe if you were paying 1/3 of their price you might not care. II was on the 8th floor and the hallways were hot and the wallpaper was marked and torn in spots. It was just... more

The hotel is under serious construction which we were never told about before staying here. They informed us that workers might be going by your window and to keep the blinds shut. The hotel was kinda grungy and not very nice. The pool was quite nice though, the workout room nice, but some machines outdated and in need of repair.... more

Came for a wedding. Often could not reach staff for assistance, but we managed. Room was comfortable, pool was very nice but confusing to get to. Restaurant/lounge were awesome - the food and service. Limited parking outside. more

We stayed 4 nights overall on an Archers tour. The rooms were clean and OK but no fridge. The beds sagged so our backs suffered. The whole place is old fashioned and dark. The restaurant is far too small and we had some long waits if we hadn't booked in advance. Even when allocated a table service is slow. The... more
