If you want to invest in a lake front property with potential, I suggest you buy this place. It's location is the best, right on Lake Ontario and one of the marina's, one block from City Hall and with underground (limited) parking for a nightly fee of CAD10. But investment it needs - the place is run down, elevators have... more

This is not a 'fancy' hotel, but very adequate; staff was very friendly and nice, beds were comfortable, room was spacious, quiet and clean. Location of hotel is fantastic. I booked, and saw the other reviews after, so I came prepared for the worst. Upon a thorough inspection, room proved to be very clean (except for stains on the carpet,... more

Woke up to bedbugs in my room- I was bitten several times. Told the hotel and they didn't really do anything about it. DO NOT STAY HERE. more

I was at the hotel recently for a conference and banquet. The rooms are nice but not too comfortable. It was hard to find a place near the table/desk that I could plug my laptop power supply in. Bathroom toiletries were minimal. Lobby was OK, the jazz bar off the lobby was reasonable but the other dining area was in... more

My wife and 2 kids (14 and 10) stayed at the Confederation for 1 night as we traveled from Mont Tremblant to Niagara Falls. The check-in was easy - the front desk staff friendly and helpful. The room was quite average - dated wall paper, older looking furnishings, etc. - nothing aweful or special - for $129 a night, you... more

We stayed at the Confederation Hotel this weekend. (Sat. Oct. 20th - Sun. Oct. 21st). * We stayed in the "Cityview King Room" @ $159/night * AFTER we booked our hotel room, I decided to read some reviews on this hotel. -I must admit, after reading some of the reviews posted...I panicked!! I called the front desk a couple days... more

I can't wait to go back to Confederation Place! I've stayed here back in 2002 and just about every year after when it was the Howard Johnson's and still like it. The staff is very helpful and very nice. The hotel is close to all the great things in "Old Kingston", great shoping and lots of different rnationalities estaurants(a big... more

Do yourself a favour and do not stay at this hotel. My room had wallpaper peeling off the walls, a bathtub which didn't drain properly, and a toilet water intake which refused to stop running. The decor and furniture were ratty, to put it nicely, and possibly dated back to Confederation itself. All this pleasure was mine for a mere... more

Basically all this place has got going for it is the view - if you stay lakeside. If you arrive later than the minimum check-in time (3:00), don't expect to get parking in their underground lot, which will cost you $10 if you are so lucky. When I asked how many cars their lot held, the check-in clerk said, "Maybe... more

It really comes down to price. In July I stayed in a larger, nicer room in Paris for 100 dollars less a night. Conferdation wanted 240 for a room with a view of the street. The rooms were fine but the elevator had ratty old carpet in it. If the hotel was 130 a night, I would say fine, great,... more
