Stayed here over the Civic Holiday weekend, it was nothing to write home about. The hotel is quite old and the facilities shows its age. The elevator was somewhat defective as we couldn't get to our floor until after a couple trys (the buttons have no indicator on them). The room is a bit small for the price that they... more

I brought a team from BC to attend a National Championship tournament a few weeks ago and stayed at the Embassy West which was a "suggested" hotel by the booking agency for the tournament. We arrived at midnight and found that we were given rooms in a construction zone. There were tarps stapled on the walls that were opened up... more

The Embassy West was nothing special; it was just a place to sleep, so I didn't spend that much time there. The quality of the room was somewhat disappointing though - the bedsheets were stained; there were black mould spots in the shower; the washroom wasn't that clean and was tiny. However, the bed wasn't hard and was quite comfy.... more

The hotel receptions has a very bad customer service. It's not what you expect when you pay for a 3 star hotel. No "Hi", no information provide for the guest once checked in. Nice location and look good inside but the room is quite old. more

Our team booked rooms for two nights at this hotel while participating in a youth baseball tournament in Ottawa. Upon entering the hotel, it looks nice. It all begins once the elevator door opens. The elevators state an occupancy of 7 people. A friend with an infant in an infant carrier hanging off her arm, tight to her chest, myself,... more

I guess I'm just not used to staying at the Ritz like most other people. I found this hotel to be perfectly acceptable for $89. It could use some updating, like 90% of other similar places out there. The lobby was very nice, the staff that I encountered were friendly and helpful and the room was actually much better than... more

We stayed at the Embassy West for one night while we were moving and it was awful. We booked a non-smoking room but it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. After leaving the hotel and re-entering, we realized the entire hotel smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades. There are two small elevators and they... more

It has to be one of the worst hotels ive ever stayed at including hostels in europe and 29 buck motel 6's. The showers were rusty , the soap made me smell even worse. It would take 2 flushes to flush a tiny piece of toilet paper. If you were staying in this hotel i would strongly recomend to sleep... more

Stayed here over the Canada Day Weekend. What were the positves, 1) Check-In Staff was nice. 2) Room was fine with what appeared to be recent remodling. 3) Room cooling was excellent with individual controls. 4) Outdooor heated pool was excellent. It is very large, with a 9' deep end and heated to about 80 degrees. 5) Very easy exit... more

I stay in a lot of mid-level hotels in many places around the world (and some very exclusive ones too) and this was pretty bad. The central heat was already turned off so the room was cold. That is understandable for June 7 but when they sent up a little portable heater, we were told that we would have to... more
