Was there for a wedding weekend. Stayed at the Blue Jay Lodge because of a recommendation from Fairfield Resorts. Avoid this place like the plague, Hot water did not work, the room smelled; and for a topper, the night manager refused to refund our money when we chose to leave after a few hours stay. The night shift manager was... more

I stayed here because the reviews looked good. Maybe the good reviews came from people who stayed in better rooms but I doubt it. It was probably the owner who wrote the good reviews. The place was disgusting. I almost left and went to a different hotel right when I walked in the room. I have proof in my pictures.... more

We were there in the middle of the remodel, but we spent the best Christmas of our lives there. The staff accommodated our need for a fireplace and allows pets. We could walkj to the gondola, and the restaurant across the street is a secret treasure - great food, roaring fire, good prices, friendly staff. Listen folks, it's a Stateline... more

There is definately a "clean" issue at this place. It is noisy...(we were there on a weekend) The furniture in our suite (room 126) was in bad shape! The kitchen in our suite was not as clean as it should be...I was afraid to use any utensils without first washing them. There were no pots and pans for cooking and... more

The staff that run the Blue Jay Lodge are very nice and attempt to accomodate needs. The motel is old and despite some renovations is still in need of updating. Rooms are very basic - no frills here at all!! We were there during February so we were looking forward to the hot tub but it was out-of-service and did... more

Stayed during the MLK weekend and found the rooms clean and comfortable. Appeared to have undergone a recent remodel as there were many new items in the room. Would stay again. more

I have stayed at the 'lodge' three times now. The first in 2003 we stayed in a wonderful room with a really nice girl behind the desk. The second, was Jan. 1st 2004 which we did not realize was a HUGE party night for Tahoe. Big mistake with children. We had to call the police numerous times, and when we... more

My husband and I got married up in South Lake Tahoe just 3 weeks ago. My mother booked reservations for 6 rooms at the Blue Jay Lodge because they had the AAA seal of approval. Well let me just say that this place was an absolute DUMP!! The carpets were so badly stained and flithy that we had to wear... more
