This place is very "hip"! looks like a club kinda! has a really cool "chill lounge" and hotel motto! The rooms are small and have absolutely no amenities! The suite looked cool, but was out of our price range! The party is constant at this place! free beer at check in, all the energy drinks you want, video games etc.... more

Great location, clean room and fun friendly staff. We were definitly not their target clientele, being over 50 but had a great stay. It was mid week and off season so it was quiet but we weren't there for the party. Had a great time relaxing on the deck. more

So to begin with, I didn't read any reviews - walking in blind. I did have an idea of what it might be like - run down hotel fixed up - close to the Heavenly gondola (our - my son and I went - reason to be there). Our plan was drive up from SF early Wednesday, ski/ride all day... more

My boss gave me a free trip; decided to go to South Lake Tahoe for snowboarding, drinking and gambling. I came across The Block on the Internet. The web site was very enticing to me; it sounded like a fun, hip place to stay, close to the casinos and Heavenly. I made reservations. About a week later, I happened to... more

I am more than a little dissapointed to say the least. The room was nothing like that advertised on the site. No duvet covers, holes in the towels. Did I mention the heat didn't work, the wireless was also a no go, AND our room didn't get serviced for 3! days - no I am not joking. This is the... more

I liked the idea of The Block and it does have some interesting concepts: bar/pool table in the lobby -(however it was very small in this area so not very inviting), music in the parking lot (some explicit rap, fyi), wax shop, snowboard holders in the room...it really is way overpriced for what you get. This is a sub standard... more

Let me start out by saying that I fit the exact profile of who the block is catering to. I am a white 26 year old male who snowboards, listens to good underground music, and likes to party. I usually like to stay at the cheapest place possible, but my friends talked me into going and paying a bit more... more

I was definitely a little worried after reading the reviews but I'm so glad we gave this hotel a chance. We stayed in a new school 2 double-beds room on the first floor. Room was very clean. Down comforter and sheets were obviously freshly washed. Bathroom was older but was spotless. The room was a little small and didnt have... more

Paid $200 for the Vivid room. Nothing like what is advertised on internet. Sign by stripper pole that states "pole and stage are for display only". Management said to go ahead and use it and the sign was for liability purposes. (So their ass doesn't get sued if someone did get hurt.) Room was nasty! Dark, dirty, old stinky comforter,... more
