Our room was clean, big and in the basement. Had a terrace door onto the walkway at back of hotel. Since we requested a smoking room, but none available, the door was welcomed, but very cold standing out in -15 degree night. Room was ready right at 4pm check-in exactly. As a serial business traveler, I'm not a big fan of four-star hotels. The pay-as-you-go model complete with mini-bars, pay internet access and tip hungry bellmen isn't my cup of tea. The main purpose of this trip was the Hull-Wakefield steam train, and the lady who took my reservation suggested me this hotel as I planned a 3 night stay.
