I've stayed here before as it such a stunning location with fabulous grounds and gardens ( kudos to the gardening staff especially in the Tropical Walled Garden) Have always enjoyed the view of St Ives from the place, that can't be beaten! Last time I stayed we had a great rapport with the staff who were really sweet to us,... more

AVOID THIS HOTEL, it is overpriced, badly maintained and very DIRTY in public and non public areas, read on for more details. In 2007 we paid £195 per night for B&B in a room that had a broken TV, faulty electrics, mould covered bathroom and dirty bed linen. When we complained to the 'duty manager' he was very scruffy, rude... more

We stayed in Cottage Garden 2 for one week in mid-September. Much has already been said on the splendid gardens - I have never stayed in a place as picturesque. Lovely to sit outside and admire the view of St. Ives. The cottage was pretty good but had a few niggles - entrance via a muddy back passage, taps that... more

The hotel is beautiful to approach in extensive pretty grounds and with an excellent position looking over St Ives. The town is then only 10 minutes walk away through the hotel grounds. However, when trying to check in, things get a little less impressive. We approached the check in desk and were met with the receptionist commenting 'You're not another... more

Stayed in two bed Appartment with excellent facilities. Used outside pool, it was not open at 8.20am but the chap was more than happy to open it for us. Used the restaurant twice, first time the food was awful, meat was dry from sitting under the lights. Second time the food was very good but not excellent. Staff were friendly... more

We booked this hotel for 2 nights over bank holiday. . We paid £95.00 per night B&B i would consider this to be reasonable value for the location and the views. The hotel is stunning when you drive up to it. We were efficiently checked in and directed to our room. The hotel is old and 3 STAR so i... more

My husband and i got married at Tregenna on August 11th. It wasn't until after we had booked our wedding that i read some of the reviews and became a little worried. Both of our families were staying at the hotel and i hoped that the rooms and facilities would be of a good quality. Some of our friends had... more

On check in, we had to wait behind two other couples complaining about their rooms. Given that we had paid £195 per night and they were advertising rooms at £55 per person on the sign outside, we felt a bit nervous even though the grounds and views are fantastic. Rooms were basic and the bathroom was old and dirty. I... more

Stayed at Tregenna Castle Hotel for two nights early in August 2008 as my Son was being married there. Very disappointed with double room allocated to us - 1 bedside table, 1 bedside lamp, 1 chair to relax in, need I go on. Not a cheap hotel by any means and considering we received £10 pn discount as part of... more

My family spent a week in July 2008 at 'Miss Robinson's' one of the more externally attractive self-catering cottages on the estate. We were met at the main hotel reception by very frustrated ,young, inexperienced staff who were trying to cope with everyone arriving at 4.00pm to check in, that being the earliest time possible. The keys to some of... more
