We recently stayed for two nights at the Royal Harbour Hotel, whilst visiting friends in the town. Having never visited Ramsgate before the choice and position of a hotel was a bit of a lottery for us; the Royal Harbour turned out to be a good choice, however. We had a lovely view over the harbour, and the room itself... more

We had another brilliant stay. If only all British small hotels were like this one -- stylish, crammed with paintings and charming details, relaxed, colourful, sizable reception rooms where you can have a drink, listen to your choice of vintage records, read the books or enjoy the ambience, free late night snacks, friendly, helpful staff and masses of character. Plus... more

This lovely regency hotel was a real find. I wanted to stay in Ramsgate, a nostalgia trip as I spent many happy family holidays here in the 60's. The hotel is located in a regency terrace and has been sympathetically renovated and decorated. A warm welcome awaits, we were shown the sitting rooms, breakfast room and our bedroom, very 'snug'... more

I have recently stayed at this hotel twice in respect of work & what a gem- It's a small hotel with a homely feel. The breakfasts are sumptious with fresh flowers/real honey comb/smoked salmon, fresh gammon ham /fresh fruit salad on offer as well as the usual cooked offerings. it's full of books/ log fire and the staff are really friendly... more

Lets put it into perspective. The owner even sent us a postcard after our visit to say thanks ! We wanted a get away close to London and Tripadvisor has served me well in the past. Once again it cam up trumps. Ok, now I feel I am qualified to comment, I was involved with Marriott / Ritz in Mayfair... more

After reading the rave reviews about this hotel on this web site,we cancelled where we had booked to stay the night and decided to stay at the Royal Habour Hotel. We were disappointed! Although we were prepared that the room would be small, it said a double en-suite, but actually the bed was a small 4ft double which I feel should... more

Booked last minute, for only one night. Would loved to have stayed for a week! This is a wonderful home from home, complete with fascinating collection of artworks, various books in bedrooms, scrummy breakfast, lovely views and toasty hot water bottles provided. Can't wait to come back for a bit longer next time. more

This Hotel is absolutely amazing! I have never been moved to write a review before though I can thoroughly recommend the Royal Harbour. Everything about our stay was delightful - from the wonderful welcome by Philipe through to the gorgeous harbour views. That's not to mention the sumptious breakfast - everything you could possibly want from real honey to freshly... more

For me the joy of staying in independent hotels over chains is in the details, and this hotel has them in spades. From captivatingly quirky decor to the complimentary cheese board to the option of a hot water bottle to ease those cold business trip nights, this hotel gave the impression of genuinely wanting to make my stay as comfortable... more
