Stayed for 2 nights and wish it could have been more. Hotel staff friendly and helpful, bedrooms and public rooms were all spotlessly clean. Evening meals and breakfast were both good. Location of the hotel is also lovely, would have been even nicer if we had had some sunshine to fully appreciate the view from the beer garden. Would have... more

We stayed in room 18 (Twin room) at the Wateredge Inn, after reading some of the reviews i was slightly cautious of what we were going to get. All i can say is "WOW" this is what the Lakes is all about. How can anyone complain about this natural beauty sitting on the water front with views like this! The... more

We did not stay at the Inn, but had lunch there on a day trip, which unfortunately was very disappointing - stale bread served with the soup, chewy pizza, overcooked scampi and bland fisherman's salad. The staff did not come near us (they must have heard our children complaining!) during the whole visit - all food was served at once... more

This hotel enjoys a good location with far reaching viewsover the lake. Lovely clean rooms upstairs but the good news ends there. Unfortunately, the owners seem more concerned about attracting trade from the ferry travellers than in running the hotel side of the business. The garden leading down to the lake is spoilt by large umbrellas and signs for daytime... more

We have just spent 3 nights at the wateredge inn at waterhead ambleside and loved every second, minute, hour of it. We went for my girfriends 30th birthday and have to say the hotel was fantastic so happy we booked here ,the room we booked was a spacious en suite ( room 27 ) had a view of the lake and was... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at the hotel with my parents and their small dog. The rooms were very nice, especially the larger room which my mum and dad had to give them a bit more room for the dog. This particular room had excellent views over the garden and lake and a larger bed and... more

We have stayed in Ambleside many times and had meals and drinks at this hotel. We decided we would like to stay there for an Autumn midweek break. We stayed in what they called a 'spacious room' and it was, with a partial lake view, nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cosy (the weather was... more

We paid £140 a night for 2 B&B for an upmarket room. This is in the annexe and comes with its own little garden or balcony. You can just about see the lake over the outbuildings. Room is big - hasa nice seating area and big bed. Fittings area bit dated - avocado bath and manky curtains in bathroom. Also... more

A lovely location, right by the northern edge of Lake Windermere. Studio rooms are okay, but are starting to look a bit dated. Dogs are allowed to stay in the rooms at no extra cost, which is rare these days. Evening food options were limited and seemed to be aimed at the fast food brigade!!! You had to queue at... more

We have stayed here twice and eaten here many more times. the hotel sits on the edge of Windermere and has unrivalled wonderful views over the water. The bar/dining area overlooks this and there are outdoor tables too. The level of cleanliness throughout the hotel is the best we have ever seen. The rooms are beautiful, well coordinated soft furnishings... more
