This was an excellent hotel with the service being second to none. Ann and Dave do everything to make you feel welcome and its the little extra touches that make it special. The location was wonderful-it was so peaceful but at the same time easily accessable to the surrounding areas. The rooms were spotless and cleaned every day and the... more

We spent four days with David and Ann and it was wonderful. They really make you feel welcome,it was so quiet and peaceful. The room was superb and the breakfasts unbelievable! Try the "Whisky Porridge" its a must. You certainly need to walk them off in Grizedale Forest. The visitors centre is only 600 yards away so if you intend... more

Have just returned from a one nights romantic stay at the Grizedale for our first wedding anniversary. We had a beautiful room (The Forest Suite) which had a four poster bed, a lovely big bathroom and a balcony with views over the forest. Its fantastic value for money, the breakfast was gorgeous and the room was cleaner than some 4/5... more

I was on the lookout for two single rooms for a Saturday night stay, my mum and I were travelling up to Wastwater to scatter my fathers ashes. I phoned the Lodge and asked if they had two single rooms available for the stay. I was greeted with I think so, I'll have a look. A minute or so passed,... more

Just got back from 3rd visit to Grizedale Lodge and once again, we were not disappointed. Ann and Dave are fantastic owners, they treat you like royalty. We were fortunate to have the Forest Suite, which was cleaned daily - I would never want to go anywhere else. Dave's breakfasts set you up for the day (we never ate till... more

We have stayed at Grizedale Lodge since April 2004 on more or less a monthly basis, after our first stay we had no hesitation in booking again and again. Having stayed there on so many occasions we cannot fault the quality of this 'B&B'. The owners, Ann and Dave, could not make you feel more welcome if you were their... more

Just returned from a very enjoyable 4 day break with the family staying at Grizedale Lodge (our first visit). We can not find anything to fault. The hotel was warm, comfortable and welcoming, especially after a day walking and exploring. The choice and quality of the breakfast made a great start to the day, (the whisky porridge shouldn't be missed),... more
