What a cracking place to stay. If you love the lakes, beer, food and dogs, this has got to be the place to stay. We booked 3 rooms for 3 couples, and one dog. The rooms were tidy enough, not luxurious but good for a country inn with no pretensions of grandeur, although the room with the balcony was really... more

Excellent food fantastic local pub with true character. The staff were friendly and accomodated for my gluten free diet. more

We chose the pub because of its location, it had it's own micro brewery and it looked good on its own web site. We were not disappointed with any of those choices. We had room 7 which is small but clean and at the end of the day we didn't spent too much time in the room. We ate in... more

A very lovely lunch. Beautiful place. How lovely it is to go somewhere that is so dog friendly. Cannot say anything else other than superb and would return again. Highly recommend. more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The inn is located in an ideal position for seeing the lake district only 2 miles from Windermere. The room (8) was very comfortable with a balcony not large but adequate. The quality of the food was very good the breakfast sets you nicely for the day ahead and the menu... more

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The watermill is a small place with eight rooms. We had room 8 this time and it is better than room 4 which we stayed in last year. We had our own balcony (though the weather prevented us using it!) and although small, you don't spend much time in the room... more

A great pub in a great village - its own real ale brewery on site. Very friendly and competent staff, however the room we were given was TINY! You could barely walk round the bed with no bags, with bags you spent the entire time treading on your stuff. The bathroom door constantly crashed into furniture that was too big... more

We've eaten at this typical Lakeland pub on many occasions but this was the first time we've actually stayed there. The rooms are clean but fairly basic, our bed in room 4 was however way too soft so if you suffer from a bad back get a diffeent room. This was my only gripe about the pub though. The Watermill... more

A Gem ! Some friends said try here whilst having a few days away. Really friendly, excellent food, smart clean bedroom, plenty of beer for Tony to choose from. Chated to all others at breakfast all very impressed so we booked to go again (market research of course!) Can't wait PS Starve yourself for a week before going - the... more

This is a nice basic pub with rooms. Food is typical pub grub but hearty and a wide selection. Real ales to die for! Breakfast room is freezing in the mornings until the fire gets going however and the one thing which really turned us off was the huge number of dog hairs all over our room. Obviously wouldn't bother... more
