Most staff were very good. Some not as friendly and helpful as we were expecting. Breakfast - rubbery scrambled egg and hard poached egg. Dinner - not worth £50 per person. Canapes and petits fours nothing special. Venison with chocolate and beetroot was not very pleasant. Flavours too strong and overpowering. My wife and I stayed overnight here in Juy 2008 in rather wet weather. It had been some time since we stayed previously but the high standard of the Hotel was still there. Stayed here for our first Valentines as Mr and Mrs. Went with the Valentines package - so extra bonuses of flowers, chocolates and champange in the room! Lovely room. Bed FULL of pillows! We have visited Linthwaite House Hotel for several years and decided, at short notice, to return due to the knowlege that the standards on each visit are a constant, being a high level. Beautiful reception rooms and terrace with views of the lake. Excellent restaurant. Very impressed with the individual attention to my dietary needs. Lovely quiet position, but this does mean that you can’t easily walk into the town....so the DVD and CD library are a plus! more

Perfect for a relaxing, luxurious break set in beautiful surroundings with fantastic views. The staff are attentive, yet not intrusive. The food is exceptional and weather permitting a pre-dinner drink on the terrace sets the mood for a wonderful evening. more
