We got married at the Low Wood in Sept 07, the hotel is gorgeous and the lake view rooms are amazing with stunning views. The staff we cant rate highly enough they did a great job in making our day perfect and all our guests that stayed here were all really pleased and enjoyed their stay. The leisure facilities are... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in a lake view room. It was a nice view but there is a main road between the hotel and the lake which can get very busy during the day. It is not too bad in the evening (we arrived around lunch time on a bank holiday Monday and the road was completely congested).... more

A mixed review of the Low Wood. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of July 2008, 2 adults & 2 children. We booked a luxury suite for the first night and had to book a luxury split-level suite for the second 2 nights. First night - rooms were fine, I would say 3.5* standard. At the back of... more

Stayed here for one night over August bank holiday on a half price deal. The hotel is clean and tidy and rooms are well kept. We had a lake view room in new block. The downside of these rooms are that they are a little walk from the main hotel block. Also no air con and having the window open... more

I wanted to treat my mother for her 60th birthday and decided to go to the Lake District. Booked this hotel on its own website. The site said that it is a 4 star hotel and the pictures looked great! I booked a twin room with a lake view. The description did not specify the fact that the room also... more

Stayed here for a night to see the Lake District again. The hotel is some distance out of the town of Windermere to the North - which took us a while to find. So, to enjoy Windermere or Bowness (which are both cute and interesting), you will need to drive. The lake is opposite - on the other side of... more

Very disappointing stay in August 2008 The rooms in the new building transmit every sound so it is impossible to get a good nights sleep as you can hear every movement and sound in every other room. The quality of furniture is poor and there is no air conditioning This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was... more

I stayed at this hotel in July with 2 pensioners and 2 children. One of the pensioners was disabled and I therefore booked a room suitable for her. On arrival we were very disappointed with the reception staff who were obviously about to change shift and wanted us out their way as quickly as possible. We were given our room... more

We had our wedding at this hotel on Saturday 24th May 2008. The location and the hotel were absolutely perfect! We had our wedding in part of the main restaurant and as you can see from the pictures, it looked perfect! We then had our photos on the lawn outside the hotel and across the road by the Marina. Again... more
