The Howbeck quite literally saved my life (& marriage) after booking a 3 night stay at another local boutique hotel, and turning up only to find they did not have a reservation for me, I phoned the Howbeck who were very accommodating & asked me to call in and choose a suite, this we did. Really well appointed 5 star guest house, breakfasts were superbly cooked, although you only have an 1/2 hour time slot (8.30 - 9.00am). Just came back from two nights stay at The Howbeck and I can say only one thing: it is wonderfull place !!! I have fallen in love with The Howbeck from first minute and I am going to come back every time when vist lake district. Recommend to everyone !!!! more
