This was our first ever visit to Liverpool, so we chose this hotel for its location -- it's right opposite Lime Street station. The shopping mall below the hotel (St John's Precinct) is amazingly downmarket, but otherwise the area is fine. Contrary to some of the other reviews, we did not find it noisy, unless you count the seagulls, which... more

Our two night stay worked out really well. The one way system around Lime Street is a bit frustrating if you come into Liverpool from the North, (or with my bloody SatNav!), but I eventually got into the car park after driving around the block a few times. The taxi driver who took us to the hotel the next night... more

The Holiday Inn Liverpool is bang opposite Lime Street Station. The area is very run down and we didn't feel too safe to venture out as it was full of drunks and police cars and vans drove up and down endlessly, sirens blaring well into the night. The room really stank but this cleared when the air con was on.... more

I've just had one night at this hotel on business with some leisure time built in. I'd say it's really good for both in this revitalised city which in itself was really impressive (it's 20 years since I was last there and couldn't believe the changes). The conference centre is purpose built and well thought out. The location if you're... more

I stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of April whilst on business. As others have said the location is excellent (as is the Marriott) when you come out of the mainline station. I had requested a higher floor & was allocated a room on the 6th floor which was appreciated. The room itself was very clean... more

We stayed in this hotel many years ago when it was the St John's Hotel. Back in those days the hotel entrance was on an upper level, on the way in to the car park. These days drivers have to drop passengers off, then drive up to the car park and walk back to the hotel, a not particularly pleasant... more

This hotel is okay, nothing special, just a standard Holiday Inn. The rooms are well maintained, clean with good bathrooms. It is okay for a night maybe but not for any length of time. more

Not a lot to say about this hotel, it’s nothing great, nothing bad. The room’s are of your usual HI standard. The view from the 6th floor was of the air-con units and the car park of the adjacent shopping centre. All the staff I encountered were very polite and helpful, except the young female bar staff who were “bickering“... more

The staff are the best thing about this hotel - everyone we encountered was helpful, pleasant and efficient. The room whilst clean wasn't anything special - rather like a Travelodge I felt. The toiletries were those 'wall attached' squeezy affairs which I find really hard to use. We had a breakfast inclusive rate - the actual cost if not is... more

Stayed here for a couple of nights midweek. Very spacious and comfortable room on the fourth floor. Hotel doesn't look up to much from the outside but inside it it smart, warm and welcoming with friendly staff. Above all it was absolutely quiet at night - pretty good for the location in the heart of the city. Great views from... more
