My wife and I decided to spend a day in York on our way home from North Yorkshire to Hampshire and hadn't booked anything. We got hold of the York Tourist Information office published guide to York and looked up Bed & Breakfasts. We came across Moorgarth and rang them at 11am asking if they had anything available that evening.... more

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. Owners very friendly and made to feel welcome. As we had driven there on our motor bike we were allowed to park the bike round the back of the house.We have a BMW 1150RT which we got down the side of the guest house with space,(anything bigger will not go down I don't think),but... more

We wanted to visit York for one night and the Moorgarth was the only guest house that could offer that. (Everyone else was a 2 night minimum.)We received a friendly welcome and a good sized family room. Breakfast was delicious and ample. more

My fiance and I stayed at Moorgarth during a trip to the UK in the summer of 2001. The room was warm and inviting, the bed was comfy, the shower pressure was great, and the bathroom was a good size for an ensuite B&B of this type. The breakfasts were yummy! more
