One of the most homely, yet luxurious, hotels we've stayed at! Definitely worth a visit. Burford is gorgeous and the bakery opposite is now our favourite bakery in England.... try the lardy cake! more

Stayed at Burford House for a couple of nights in 4 poster room called Wychwood. You can view all rooms on the hotels excellent website. The room was large and comfortable with good bathroom. It was full of squeaky floorboards and lovely stone windows overlooking Burford High street, which can be a little noisy early morning. The only negative was... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Burford House Hotel. What a fabulous, quaint hotel! On our arrival we were greeted by the owner and shown to our room. The room was delightful with a large adjoining bathroom that consisted of a roll top bath, among other things. There were two comfortable living rooms and a... more

Just returned from a perfect weekend in the Cotswolds and Burford House just rocked! It changed hands recently (Feb 08) and the new owners have decided to start serving food on Thurs to Sat evenings. My boyfriend and I both had the lamb as a main on the saturday night and it was out of this world. An evening topped... more

Though not cheap, this is a great hotel in a lovely Cotswold village. Though located on the main street of the town, we had a back room facing onto the courtyard garden and it was very peaceful. Beautifully furnished, with clean rooms and a comfortable bed. The staff and management were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Burford House Hotel in the Sherborne room. The four poster bed was lovely, and the teddy bears make a nice touch. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was huge, with a delightful roll top bath. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room but the hotel does afternoon teas, as do... more

My husband and I would just like to thank Burford House for their wonderful hospitality over the weekend of 11 August 07 when we stayed with them to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. The hotel and surroundings are beautiful & the owners and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! We stayed in Sherborne which was worth every penny... more

We loved this property. We stayed here in 05, which I realize is a long time ago, but after reading the conflicting reviews of this establishment, I wanted to share our experience. My husband and I made arrangements using the owner's website. This was very easy to do and the pictures are representative of the accomodations. Staff was very friendly... more

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights at Burford house at the end of June and we feel it was hugely overpriced. We had Southrop, which was a gorgeous room, really big and comfortable. However, it cost £170 per night and there were several things about our stay that made us feel it should have been considerably less. The... more
