We only stayed here because it had the only empty rooms in Bath on this particular weekend. We soon found out why. My main gripe with this place was the cost. We paid £140 for a double room, with no breakfast. When we came to check in, we were told that we couldn't use the room as "there is a... more

We booked an executive room for our stay at a cost of £350 for 2 nights. We advised the hotel that we would be late arriving and when we got there at 9.40pm were told that there were no executive rooms left. We were therefore put into an annexe block and the room was terrible. The heating was not on... more

My husband and I stayed here for a short break in Bath. The hotel is perfectly adequate, although as other reviewers have noted, it seems a bit overpriced considering that you can get similar facilities and service at Travelodge and other chains of that type. The main benefits are free parking (not to be sniffed at in Bath) and the... more

This was quite the most dissapointing hotel I've been in for a very long time. I had booked what I thought was a 4* hotel for a 50th birthday surprise on a first-time visit to Bath. For a 2* it would have been OK, but to hold to being a 4* is a joke. The front desk staff were unhelpful... more

A deeply uninspiring hotel, at best described as functional, at worst overpriced and dull. The plus points were that it was a short walk from the station (and it was close to the function we were attending, so it was an obvious choice for us). Our room was fine, if small. It was quiet enough, and we slept ok. The... more

My wife and I stayed for a long weekend mid September and found the hotel, staff, food and location very good. Drinks are expensive but that's a fact of life in UK hotels and it did not detract from a super weekend. more

Stayed there for a conference and was not paying my own bill, but everything seemed very pricey for what it was. Reception a little offhand. Could not get into room until 7p.m.. Was told it took 35 minutes to clean it......A ground floor disabled-friendly room had been requested. I was allocated a first floor room with no effective air-conditioning. It... more

Booked this at the last minute just by turning up at the hotel. Room was clean and adequare for one night, although noisy as it was above a huge air con unit! I think the rooms would be better with a refurbishement as they seem quite dated and hot - no air con or fans in the room. The hotel... more

Have stayed at the Menzies Waterside Hotel in Bath on numerous times, but have only just had the time to write my review. I must admit that each time I have stayed at this hotel I seem to have a different opinion of it. Ask me to review it earlier this year and I probably would have given it a... more

Please read all the reviews and believe them. This is NOT a four star hotel more like a 2 star. The doors to the rooms are old and damaged. The lobby are the only neat place in the hotel. Rooms small WITH NO AIR CONDITIONING FOR A FOUR STAR HOTEL??? Im from South Africa and our 3 Star hotels look... more
