I think the reviews given so far give you a slightly false expectation. The outside as already stated is horrible and would benefit from a major face lift. On the inside it is okay but not fantastic. Some of the corridors are old, cold and smell mouldy and there is lots of peeling wallpaper and paint. The swimming pool looks... more

Your first thought on approaching this architectural monstrosity is to do a u-turn and head right back down the A1 as soon as possible. The grotty exterior hides a bit of a gem however, especially when you end up paying £29 (booked via the company's website) for a large spacious family room, complete with a wonderful full buffet breakfast and... more

First impressions of this hotel were mixed - we arrived exactly when a large tour bus did - but reception made sure that we bypassed their line and received their undivided attention. From the outside, this hotel is nothing to look at, but I had read the reviews and had a feeling that the room would be fine, which it... more

we had a booking for the weekend as it was my wifes birthday. we arrived at the hotel early afternoon and found that our room was all ready and waiting for us . no delays. my wife is a strict veggie and the menu had at least two veggie options on. how ever the wife did not fancy any of... more

We stayed here because we were going to York races for the weekend and couldn't get anything any closer. If I had booked this for any other reason I would have gone sraight home again. from the outside it looks awful, the staff on reception when we arrived didn't have a clue, they allocated us a room at the end... more

We booked this Hotel as it was fairly near York and because it has a swimming pool & tennis courts. We found a deal via Superbreak that gave us 3 nights for price of 2. The Hotel is near A1 and appears to be used a lot by Tour Buses which meant that most of the other residents were older... more

The stay overall was okay! When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by Stephanie on reception who was very efficient and more than happy to help. Stephanie was on Reception for the majority of our stay and she helped with any problems that rose and made our stay feel comfortable. Restaurant staff were foreign and didn't really understand... more

We booked this hotel mainly as it had a swimming pool. The hotel is in the middle of a traffic cone empire but once we found the way in, staff at reception were helpful. Dining room staff could have been more receptive, and as mentioned, literature about local area did seem non apparent, though again, reception staff helpful when asked.... more

We had booked 3 nights in a family room at this hotel over half term. I had checked regularly for good deals on Leeds area hotels and this seemed to offer the best balance of reasonable price with reasonable reviews on Tripadvisor & elsewhere. Booked room & breakfast rate on the internet (@£53 per night) & then rang the hotel... more

I have to say, I have never feared staying in somewhere like I did when I pulled up to this place. It is UGLY! Once inside, it's not too bad in the public areas including swimming pool. Unfortuately we were part of a large party and arrived first. We were given a downstairs room which was quite frankly appalling and... more
