After calling to make a reservation several weeks before our stay AND calling, which wasnt even necessary, two hours before our arrival to confirm. One hour before we were due to arrive at Paddys Palace Hostel in Belfast we recieved a call to tell us theyd given our room away! And their reason was that an internet booking was more... more

Stayed here in may, the room was clean, the showers were hot, and it was quiet. The only major problem I had was getting locked out. No one explained about the key system to get back in, and there was a note on the door to call such and such number. Well, not being from Ireland, I had a hard... more

Well, I booked a double room for myself and partner with I thought an ensuite - got - a twin room with a bunk bed and no ensuite - I daren't not object by this stage as it took me ages to even confirm the booking. I booked in Nov 2007 (via hostelbookers and paid a deposit) - months before... more

I booked a four bed dorm for one night about six weeks in advance leaving my credit card details to confirm the booking, I phoned the night before travelling to belfast to reconfirm my booking and just as we were boarding the plane they phoned to say that my booking was cancelled. We were obvisusly a little shhocked seeing as... more

I stayed here with a few friends in Feb 08 for a weekend away on the beer. Stupidly it was only after booking the hostel that i looked up the reviews for the hostel on trip advisor and was shocked by how bad the reviews that it got were. So needless to say we were all dreading the place before... more

I stayed here with some friends as part of the 3 day paddywagon tour - it wasn't an overly pleasant experience. The beds were very uncomfy and squeaked everytime anyone moved. The pillows were the worst I've ever slept on. Most of the bathrooms were out of order. The shower flooded when we were there, which leaked into the breakfast... more

we stayed there as part of a Paddywagon 3-day tour and honestly I'm glad we only stayed for a night! The staff was nasty, the room dark and smelly, toilets were almost as filthy as the kitchen! You also have to go down the staircase to use the toilets, not very convenient at 3 am! If you have the choice,... more

Arrived in belfast and stayed in this dump! the room had dirty sheets and the smell in the kitchen almost made me sick! the toilet/bathroom (rooms NOT en-suite) as stated were miles away! the water in the shower was freezing and one bathroom was out of order, the other toilet seat came off as you sat on it and i... more

Basically, you get what you pay for. It's not exactly spotless, but it's bearable. Location is good, about ten minutes walk from the centre and with plenty of shops, cafes and bars nearby. There's no curfew, which is a plus point for some hostellers, though not so good if you need an early night. 'Paddywagon' tours to sights around Ireland... more

Well, where do i start?? Belfast was lovely, the accomodation was another story! There was one positive to my stay and that was checkout!! The showers still give me nightmares 10 months later! I'll be amazed if environmental health aren't shutting the kitchen down as we speak! I don't think the heating was on at all for the duration of... more
