My husband and I spent a weekend in the hotel, from Friday check-in unitl Sunday 12pm check out. When we arrived on Friday shortly before 3pm to check in, our room was not ready so we had to go into town and while away some time shopping! This was our second time in the hotel and on the first occasion... more

A group of us stayed in the Merchant and had a fabulous experience, the staff were welcoming, warm and extremely professional. Food was wonderful although a little extravagant flavours wise for me, breakfast divine and the whole ambiance was first class. We have booked again! Totally recommend it here more

Stayed at the Merchant with my husband for my birthday, we live in belfast so we just stayed at the merchant as a treat. We were not disappointed, its a lovely hotel and the staff were really helpful. Although the hotel is newish it has an antique feel about it. more

Following my disappointing visit in October I went back to the Merchant earlier this month. My room was far away from the nightclub and up a few floors and it made such a difference. It was another lovely, sumptous room. Love the beds. The staff were lovely and welcoming and were able to reserve a table for us in the... more

The twin room we were allocated was absolutely great, with two very large comfortable beds. The bathroom was stocked with lovely toiletries. The hotel has retained a lot of the ornate furnishings of its previous life as a bank and the dining room is absolutely splendid. Our dinner was exceptional - flavour, presentation and service all superb. In fact is... more

We stayed on a Friday night, arrived late after 10PM but staff were friendly and helpful, the valet moved the car for us as we were parked on the busy side street. Room was gorgeous and clean, quiet too with no noise from outside or other rooms. Checkout was at 12PM so we had time to lie in and have... more

I was very excited when we booked the Merchant Hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary but was extremely disappointed with the experience. Before departing we rang the hotel to enquire about parking as we had already pre-paid, and were told that on arrival to pull up and the valet would take care of our car, however on arriving we had... more

I cannot really add much to the reviews below. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and everything was perfect, from the greeting at the front door to the room and the food. The hotel has an excellent location near to great shopping, restaurants, pubs and clubs and has a great atmosphere. The service was excellent from all members of... more

I never felt so rich as booking into this gorgeous hotel. To be received at reception with a handshake and a plush velvet seat, very luxurious. The staff were lovely (the poor porter even offered to carry our bags with a broken thumb - we declined of course) and the 'residents only' pool room next to the bar was great.... more

I would highly recommend the Merchant Hotel for anyone planning a trip to Belfast. Although difficult to find with all the one way streets, the effort to get here is paid off with luxury and a most attentive staff. This hotel was formerly the Merchant Bank (thus the name) and from the outside, does somewhat resemble a grand old bank.... more
