Although this hotel was a little shabby looking we loved staying here and had a spacious room on the 1st floor over looking the main street. The staff were the best we had expierenced on our holiday - as Edinburgh was one of our last stops after travelling around the world, the staff made us so welcome and were so... more

It's festival time, and you can only get rack rate rooms anywhere. And this is a place that you wouldn't want to pay full price for. We were given a dark, dank lower ground floor room where we had to store our small rucksacks on a chair because they would have been damp just sitting on the carpet. A huge... more

Basic room which was large with high ceilings. Good sized bathroom. Wouldn't want to pay the rack rate of 75 or 80 pounds per night though....we got it for only 29 pounds by booking it 7 months in advance. This is a bargain for Edinburgh. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a cheap stay with no frills. We... more

We needed an overnight stay in Edinburgh before flying home to US and chose here for location close to the airport bus route and easy walk into the city. We had a prebooked price of GBP49 for a double. We were given a basement room and told no rooms were available on higher levels. Room was very basic with few... more

Four of us, two adults, two children, stayed in a family room for one night only, prior to the Edinburgh marathon. Having stayed in pretty soulless travelodges before, this was a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious with great views over the hills of Edinburgh. Because my children are now of an age where sharing a bed is out... more

Stayed here on Friday 6th June, was expecting a run down Travelodge, as are often found in lots of big cities around the UK nowadays. Pleasantly surprised, big room, big bathroom, quiet location, room looking out onto garden at rear of hotel. No parking, but you can park on a meter outside the hotel ( at £2 per hour !!)... more

This was a waste of money, for £85 expectations are higher than what was on offer here. No local car parking got things off to a bad start. OK so we found a place about a mile away. Got back to the hotel after a great day in Edinburgh for a quick turn around to find 1) No toiletries 2)... more

We booked a room here for two nights and got it for £29 a night on a super saver deal. It was a lovely building in a very peaceful area. The room was lovely - period and had very high ceilings and was very large in size. Big bathroom too - did notice a lack of towel rail though. Room... more

We stopped here for 1 night and found the location of it pretty good. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Haymarket Train Station which is also where the bus from the airport stops. The room was pretty large, clean and overlooked some greenery which made a change. We literally dumped our bags off and went out, came... more

This was our first and perhaps last stay at the Travelodge Haymarket, for various reasons. The room was spacious and adequate, however there was no heating in the bathroom, nor was there a towel rail or somewhere for the toilet roll to hang - basic features I would have thought. There was no cold water coming out of the cold... more
