The location of the hotel is perfect to visit the town: next to the main attractions, 5 minutes walk from the main station and two streets from the shops and restaurants. My husband and I stayed at the Frederick House Hotel for 3 nights over the Easter holiday weekend. The hotel itself is a little dated but the rooms were comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location just off Princes Street. Unaasuming entrance opens to a reception and small lounge. Basically, the rest of the hotel comprises the rooms. Breakfast is provided in a nice restaurant across the road. So if you're just looking for a no-frills room, this will probaby suit. Best thing about this hotel was its location - close to sites I wanted to visit, museums, restaurants, pubs and shopping. The room was large. But the rooms could use a refurbishing. I found all aspects of my stay wonderful. The room itself was very large with a decent sized bathroom. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I thought the breakfast was wonderful and the service could not be faulted. They were all extremely accommodating. I would not think twice about staying at this hotel again. more
