I stayed here with my boyfriend at the beginning of June this year and we had a wonderful time. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the roof garden was a lovely, peaceful oasis and the heated bathroom floor was my favourite part! The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and the breakfast was... more

We stayed there as a 40th birthday treat for my husband Unfortunately it turned into a bit of a nightmare!! After returning to our room, after an hour reading in the lounge, we were met by what can only be described as an explosion of glass. The glass sink was in bits. There was glass in the hallway, all over... more

We were fortunate to get a great deal at Lastminute.com for this hotel. And all l can say is dont stay anywhere else in Edinburgh, its luxury, spacious well designed, central to everything. The only drawback l can say is that the cleaning staff are really slow at doing rooms, 4pm rooms still not serviced, when they are half your towels... more

Had booked for special occasion with another couple, with aim of a treat, so had been a bit worried by some negative postings. We loved it, and had a fab weekend- loved the mix of contemporary design, with warm, rich soft furnishings, wonderfully comfortable beds, we loved the snug, and found the honesty bar enhanced the relaxed feel of the... more

I stayed at the Glasshouse in June for 2 nights in an executive room. The decor of the hotel is fantastic and the room was of a very high standard, it looked exactly like the pictures on the website. Under floor heating in the bathroom is a nice touch and we had fantastic views of Edinburgh from our rooftop balcony.... more

My husband took me to The Glasshouse for a birthday treat, something he does most years, so I am fortunate enough to have stayed in quite a few 5 star hotels, and my husband has stayed in hotels all over the world. The Glasshouse however misses the mark completely. The hotel does indeed have a lot of glass but is... more

My husband and I stayed in a deluxe room at The Glasshouse for a few nights while in Edinburgh. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and our room was spacious, and well decorated. The beds are large and plush, very comfortable. Our room did not have a balcony, however, the rooftop garden provided very nice views. We especially appreciated... more

We are left feeling somewhat ripped off after staying at the Glasshouse Hotel given that for a comparible price elsewhere in the city you are able to receive a genuine 5 star stay. The reception usually contains just 1 member of staff, the honesty bar is clearly another way of saving on staff costs and the walk to most rooms... more

This hotel is not deserving of a five star rating. It is very inconsistent. I was in a suite yet the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor. Some days i had the complimentary bottle of water, other days not. There is no bar, no restaurant that i could find and the hotel is badly laid out. You walk for miles... more

Unfortunately I only stayed here one night because i was there on a business trip. The hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms used a lot of glass to make it look extremely stylish. It was spacious and the room opened in to a garden balcony which made it feel very cosy. Location of the hotel is fine, within walking... more
