We checked into the Inn at Lathones for dinner, bed and breakfast, in order to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have had numerous family and friends (who all come from the local area) recommend the Inn to us in the past (although I now know that the last time any of these went there for a meal was a year... more

We had rooms 17 and 18 which were very comfortable, clean and quiet. Ideal after a day's golf. Excellent selection of tea and coffee in the room, but having to go and ask for milk everytime we wanted a cup was a letdown. There was decking outside of the room and lovely farmland views, beautiful on a sunny morning. We... more

I dined at Inn at Lathones as part of a very large tour group of golfers. While the food was good, the service was very poor. It was obvious that they were swamped by our group and were not prepared to deal with us. I can understand that if we had simply walked in off the street, but we had... more

The Inn at Lathones undoubtedly has some lovely old buildings and a nicely old-fashioned feel. That is, in parts. The bar and lounge area are certainly atmospheric, but the rooms, as other reviews have indicated, aren't done up in a similar or even complementary way. The armchairs really do look they came from Ikea. Given the stated tariff on our... more

Picked this hotel for my birthday at end of June, and was extremely delighted with my choice. We found it to be very welcoming and extremely comfortable., though I do have to say we were in the new suites, which may I add had two balconies, one off the lounge and one off the bedroom overlooking rural fife with only... more

We stayed two nights midweek and found ourselves in one of the upstairs rooms at the front of the hotel looking out onto the road. The room itself wasn't too bad in terms of decor and cleanliness, but the low, angled ceilings were unpleasant and I agree with some of the previous comments about the cheap furniture, although the sliding... more

My husband decided to take me back to The Inn again as a surprise on Saturday April 19th 2008. We had the same room as last time in the new building. Some comments left have been very unkind. The decor is minimalistic not cheap and we had lovely curtains in our suite! The whirlpool bath is wonderful and the 4... more

We came to the inn by chance having checked the web site for a short break. The welcome was friendly and relaxed and the wow happened when we were told we had been upgraded to one of their new rooms. Jacuzie bath special beds and so much space. We went into St Andrews and spent a lovely day looking all... more

What a disappointment! We expected the inn to have cosy, comfortable accommodation, but the bedroom was cold and clinical. Whoever is resposible for the decor of the rooms needs a lesson in interior design. I would have thought it sensible to have the rooms decorated to match the character of a coaching inn and not some cheap motel. Be prepared... more

A weekend escape from the children proved to be a very pleasant and relaxing experience. The room was very fresh in appearance, spacious and with lovely open views across the fields. This was at the back of the hotel and other rooms into the courtyard or over the road could well prove a little noisy, particularly if there is a... more
