Our experience was fabulous and I can't wait to return. The Burness House is about 3 or 4 blocks from the Old Course 1st tee, a block from the North Sea, and within a block of the shopping district. We stayed here for one evening after playing a round of golf at St. Andrews New Course. Our room was ensuite but tiny. There was barely more room than the bed took up. Regardless, it was fresh and clean, the bed comfortable, and the hostess was very pleasant. The accommodation was conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants. more

My wife and I could not be happier with our short stay with Hazel and Laurie Crane at Burness House. Everything from the ease of reserving our room to the updated accomodations enhanced the magic of St Andrews. The breakfast was excellent and accomodations for an early breakfast were made when I was lucky enough to get a tee time... more

We stayed at Burness House for a few days at the end August/beginning of September 2005 and were very happy with our choice. The location is excellent, one block away from the Scores and 5 minute walk to the beach and golf course. New owners were very friendly and helpful. Parking is not available, but there is a lot one block away. Close to town center and walking distance to the Old Course. more
