The Thistle was one of the worst hotels in which I have stayed. The bathroom was filthy. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was hot and the food was poor. I would never consider staying there. I stayed for 4 nights while attending a course. The welcome was fine, the room large and adequately furnished. Wear and tear obvious but generally I have stayed in places at twice the cost but half as nice. Slight warning though, the coffee and orange juice at breakfast was absolutely dire. We finished off a week touring Scotland with a two-night stay in Glasgow.
