The Brunswick Hotel in Glasgow, located at the heart of the Merchant City (the Soho of Glasgow) is the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed in. While I tend to like Victorian , old fashioned hotels, the modernist boutique hotel that the Brunswick is won me over completely because it is run like a 5 star hotel and is... more

Booked direct with hotel for two rooms, both single occupancy for attending a business function in the Merchant City. Hotel chosen simply for its location. Did expect a better standard for the amount paid £95 and £85 for the two rooms. Room I occupied had a king size bed, low level, not the most comfortable, usual bad joints when matresses... more

Not the most spacious of hotels but very comfortable and the staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was basic but reasonable for the price and the restaurant was busy (we arrived in the middle of Saturday night after some help from the RAC) but we were found a table and well attended to. The... more

I wanted a resonable hotel quite central and that is exactly what you get with the Brunswick. I booked a compact room which cost £50 for one night, it had a double bed , small desk and shower en-suite. The room was small but slept 2 adults no problem. The lady on reception was fantastic and couldn't do enough to... more

The hotel is quirky, a ‘minimalist’ small place linked to an Italian bar and deli. It is so unmarked that I wandered by it several times before I found the door marked ‘hotel’ and even then it was so dark inside I thought it was closed. The room was comfortable enough, but odd. There was free wi-fi but no desk... more

... and you will be too if you hope to sleep here. First, the staff were very sweet and helpful as I moved rooms three times trying to get some shut eye. Unfortunately I gave up after a couple of nights and left. Overall, the Brunswick is rundown and desperately in need of a thorough makeover (not just the tacky... more

This place is wonderful. The entrance is classy, simple and spotless. The spark of their bar/restaurant nextdoor gives arrival an extra something - a promise of something GOOD. The rooms are individually decorated with simplicity and extremely good taste. Again, spotless. And the bathroom! Well I was happy to spend a lot of time in there pampering and relaxing. Breakfast... more

Just stayed 2 nights at the Brunswick in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Why funky? Well there are stong reds and blues used in the decor. The hotel was fairly basic - small entrance and reception, small bedroom, but clean throughout and bed comfortable. There is a cafe/restaurant/bar attached which I found noisy in the evening, but younger folk... more

probably was rather nice when it first opened it's doors, but it's in dire need of an overhaul. Room was spacious enough and was pretty clean, but furniture was really shabby as was carpet and curtains. Great location and nice little bar, but the hotel could do with some TLC. Staff were friendly enough. We only spent 1 night and... more

Okay, the location is good. But the rooms are incredibly tiny and the corridors are claustrophobic. Breakfast is even worse: some prefab cereals, yesterday's croissants, plastic cheese and ham, all served in the bar which still smells of last night's beer. The waiters couldn't care less and don't even wipe the tables. On the whole: really bad value for money.... more
