A great value in expensive Galway, this B&B is a 15-20 minute walk from the main shopping area and is run by young Jim Tierney. It has been a Galway B&B for many years. Our room (my husband and I ) had a king bed, had a good shower, a small refrigerator, and a small safe. Not a lot of... more

As a lady, travelling on my own,I took the offer of a free pick up at train,to be bought to the house,a very good service to provide for the traveler in my circumstances, showed to my room which was lovely, ensuite, tea snacks, etc, included in price, given map, accurate safe and quick directions into town, and advised on all the good places to eat and get some good... more

What a rip off.I was charged €80 for a room for one person for one night. I've been checking around and this is reckoned to be about €20 - €30 over the odds for a single room in a Galway guesthouse, even in Summer. For that price, you'd expect a certain level of comfort and some extras. You don't get... more

On arrival the front garden looks like an excavation site, on entering the smell of smoke hits you. We were told our room would not be ready until 3pm! On entering our room on the ground floor (5) I noticed no light bulb and asked for a replacement which we did not see through our four day stay, the blinds... more

Armed with my new lonely planet i headed to Ireland in search of the Emerald isle. We pretty much stuck to reccommendations from the book and tripadvisor. After seeing Dun Aoibhinn in the book we cross checked with Tripadvisor and booked. It was everything all sources said- friendly, full of character and superbly located. We travelled with another couple and... more
