I arrived at the hotel with my wife and child, having spent two great nights at the Lord Bagenal in Leighlinbridge. My wife and I stayed in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel for two nights last month on a weekend break. Stayed here with friends for a one night stay over a weekend. Really fab hotel in such a good location in the city but still peaceful and chilling. Parking is right across from the Hotel & looked after by the Hotel on checkout which is really great, reception etc. is warm & inviting and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.... more

I stayed in the Ormonde about two years ago with my husband and we really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was really good and dinner in the main restaurant was to a very high standard. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were nice too. It's in a good central location in Kilkenny. I stayed as part of a group recently, and we arrived at 1.30pm that day. We were told check-in time was 4pm, so we agreed to leave our bags and call back then. We all had dinner booked for 5.15pm, but even still, 4pm was ok. We arrived back a little after 4pm to be told our rooms weren't ready.... more

Just a few things to note: On the negative side. 1 The parking is in a NCP type high rise car park across the street from the hotel. My 4x4 was too high to go into the car park so I was allowed to park on a gated service road which goes down to the basement of the hotel. Unfortunately... more
