having both stayed and worked at o'mallys guesthouse i am appaled that people have not enjoyed their stay as i know the owners will be. all rooms are cleaned extremely well and all towels are replaced with fresh ones.unfortunatly kilkenny is a lively busy town with a great nightlife some noise should be expected. The staying rate is very competetive... more

3 houses joined together. Musty smell in the bedrooms, musty and bad smell in bathroom. I am not a picky person and normally am happy with the basics but this wasn't just basic. It smelt bad and there was no hot water the next day in the afternoon. It took more than an hour to heat up and then it... more

I stayed at O Malleys with my friend for two nights and I have to say it was a really nice experience. The rooms were clean and warm and the bedswere really comfortable. There are power showers in the bathrooms and plenty of hot water. The two girls who run the place could not have done more for us. They... more

Really nice place, rooms are basic but everything you need is at hand. The owner was very helpful with all our requests and nothing was too much trouble.Would definately return again. more

Very central location but poor value for money. Thin walls, lots of noise at night. Shower didn't work properly, soap holders broken off the walls, a couple of light fittings hanging off the walls too. Breakfast was plentiful and tasted ok. All in all, this place is of hostel standard, charging B&B rates. A poor choice. more

This B&B was the first one on our drive through the Irish countryside and we were completely happy with it. It was a small, clean room with a clean bathroom and a private parking space for our car. It wasn't a luxury B&B, but it was completely fine for the one night we stayed there. The hostess was very nice... more

No bin in the bedroom, excessive trafic noise. Shower could have been cleaner. Sink and toilet system lid cracked. Toilet seat broken. Door locks awkward. Cardboard walls, you could be kept awake but a next door guest snoring. Dressing table/morror with no chair. On a positive side, close to the city centre. This is a goldmine waiting to happen. more

O'Malleys Guesthouse has a terrific location in Kilkenny City but it is being sold and the owner is obviously not putting money into it. The place was clean and functional and Carolyn was a very pleasant and helpful host but the place needs some sprucing up. Most noticeable was the sitting room which was in such a state that you... more

I recently stayed in O'Malleys with a group of Friends. We booked three seperate rooms, and each and everyone was spotless and beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds and so centrally located to the town. The hosts caroline and eimear and the rest of the staff could'nt have been any nicer if they tried and helped us with all our questions and... more

We stayed at O'Malley's Guest House in 2001 and found it a nice place to stay The rooms were clean the breakfast was fine and its location to the town centre ( just 5 mins walk ) was excellent. Not a lot of parking space so let them know when you book We would stay there again. more
