I stayed for 4 days in the Volunteer Inn in the wonderful city Chipping Campden. It's a very nice personal small hotel, where they are very friendly and helpfull. I forgot my neckless in my room and they returned it to me by post.... If you are looking for a nice, charming hotel, with a great garden, you should go... more
Just returned from a 2 week stay throughout the U.K. staying in 5 locations. We had a family room which as it turns out is really a room with 1 bed and 2 cots (which my older teen-aged boys found uncomfortable). Biggest problem was noise. Chipping Campden is a quiet town except for this location whose pub seems to be... more
This is such a charming hotel in a beautiful location. We arrived very late as our flight got delayed and we were ushered in to a cosy bar and sat down with a nice drink :) The staff were so pleasant and made us up something to eat even though the kitchens were closed. It is a perfect base for... more
Chipping Campden is lovely. We booked to stay at The Volunteer Inn at the start of our trek along The Cotswolds Way. The accomodation is moderate ... the rooms are freshly painted and carpeted but the bed had broken slats, the varnish was coming off and it squeaked all night. Unfortunately, this was the first I heard of k_srah r dissatisfaction, and I wish that k_srah had voiced them to myself, the manager, at...
We drove into Chipping Camden a couple of days before Easter. Two hotels we tried were exorbutent prices. We found this pub at the end of the main street and walked in. We asked for a couple of nights' accommodation. The guy was soooo nice and helpful. He explained that the room was over the bar and noise could be... more
Great place friendly people. Fantastic india restaurant! more
We would recommend The Volunteer Inn and would definitely stay there again. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. This is a great base for a short stay in the Cotswolds, if you don't want to pay the high prices of many other hotels in the area. Rooms are simple but clean, with comfortable beds. The Indian restaurant on the... more
The Volunteer Inn had everything you needed for a short stay in the cotswolds. The rooms were clean and spacious with usual facilities. Beds very comfy. We had a 6 week old baby with us who was very welcome. The attached Indian Restaurant and in room service was great! Only slight criticism was as our room was on the ground... more
Fab weekend lovely traditional inn with log fire and friendly locals, food in the restaurant was lush! breakfast was lovely my only critisism was breakfast too early for a weekend maybe 10 instead of 9 and checkout 11 instead of 10, no other complaints. Location was great lovely staff great time. A lovely anniversary weekend. Jane and Sim from South... more
